The Process: Step-by-Step Refresh We tackled this methodically, preparing each phase for superior durability—building precept upon precept for results that endure: • Pressure Washing: Began with a thorough clean of all surfaces to clear away grime and loose bits, setting a strong base. • Scraping Loose Paint: Gently stripped away flaking areas from windows, trim, and siding for better hold. • Priming Repairs: Applied primer to exposed or mended spots, sealing them against future damage. • Applying Two Coats: Edged carefully, then rolled on 2 layers of Sherwin-Williams Duration exterior paint for siding and trim—built to endure weather and last. While the structure was sound, the aesthetic had become "dated," muting the natural light and dampening the room's potential for communal use. The Renewal Process: Step-by-Step Diligence Following the principle of diligence, we approached this project with a focus on high-quality materials and meticulous preparation to ensure the longevity of the work. • Preparation: We protected the existing herringbone floors and prepared all surfaces, echoing the wisdom of preparing the field before building the house. • The Accent Wall: We applied Sherwin Williams Emerald Matte in Evergreen Fog. This serene green-gray acts as a nature-inspired anchor, bringing the calm of the outdoors inside while providing a low-VOC finish that respects the health of the household. • Main Walls & Porch: The primary surfaces were coated in Neural Ground Matte. This warm neutral creates a unified, bright environment, ideal for clear focus during family worship or evening psalm singing. • Ceilings & Trim: We utilized Premium White for the ceilings to amplify the natural light. For the doors and frames, Emerald Enamel was chosen for its durability, ensuring these high-traffic thresholds stand the test of time.
